Elizabeth Arden was a Canadian business woman, the founder of Cosmetic Empire in USA. She came in New-Work in 1908, studied cosmetic art for 2 years and than borrowed money, opened own beauty salon.

Nowadays, it would be strange if you won’t use mascara and shadow for makeup. Arden promoted them and made them popular among women.

Moreover, she enlarged the spectrum of colours. She promoted the idea that make up of the woman should go together with her clothes, but not with hair colour.
